Coventry College brand identity

Formed following the merger of two local education providers, Coventry College’s identity had become confused and diluted, and needed realigning to their new vision and values.

Whilst the logo had already been created by the time we started working with Coventry, we used the colour palette – which was formed from the original colleges’ two brands – in a fresh, new visual identity. The College was keen to emphasise that now is an exciting time for their staff, students, partners and stakeholders – not only because of their own new beginnings, but because Coventry has been voted City of Culture 2021.

A cityscape illustration featuring the two distinctive college campus buildings not only symbolised the coming together of the two colleges, but that the staff and students are part of a bigger picture and working towards a brighter future.

The identity was applied in the design of various corporate communications and collateral, including stationery, a strategic plan, internal posters, pull up banners and campus branding, not forgetting the new website we designed and developed for the College. A new brand that all members of the College could be proud of, regardless of where they had come from originally, created a common purpose and inclusive culture.
